If you are just starting as a new photographer, it is likely that you do not have a large budget for advertising. However, there are lots of creative things that you can do to get your name out there. You want to try to advertise to as many people as possible.

One of the things that you are going to need is a portfolio. Make sure that your portfolio includes the best of the work that you have done. Also, make sure that it includes lots of different settings. For example, if you only have things like high school graduates in your portfolio, a person who is going to get married may feel a little put off. If you include pictures that you have taken from weddings, graduations, vacations and landscapes, your potential clients will see that you have a full range of photography skills.

After you have your portfolio set up, you need to begin to advertise. You need to have creative business cards to give out to people. It is very unprofessional to write your information down on random pieces of paper and give it to someone who may be interested. It is likely that you can include some of the pictures that you have taken or some kind of creative design on the front of the of business cards.
